A robust community engagement effort informed the creation of this plan - focused on guiding new growth and prioritizing future park system improvements.

Known for their covered bridges, the community of Winterset embarked upon a process to define future economic development opportunities while simultaneously considering how their park system should evolve to meet their changing needs. Recommendations for future land uses, improvements to their transportation network, enhancements to the downtown district, and identification of future trail connections were also included in the plan.

Our team also developed branding for the planning effort, integrating it into our community outreach and engagement materials. Engagement efforts included a Box City event, which encourages kids to develop ideas for future buildings, businesses, and uses that could make Winterset an even better place to live. We also created and managee an interactive website and facilitated numerous open houses and community events throughout the planning process.
