McKennan Park

Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Commonly referred to as the ‘Jewel’ of the Sioux Falls Park System, the renovated McKennan Park serves as a historical landmark for the community.

In advance of the park’s 100-year celebration, the City of Sioux Falls collaborated with Confluence to create a Master Plan for renovating and updating this popular and beloved community destination. Surrounded by some of the most prominent local residential architecture of the era, the park improvements reflect the historical characteristics and features of the neighborhood.

Following approval of the Master Plan, Confluence led the final design and detailing for new park structures, signage, site features and landscape plantings to preserve and enhance this treasured park. Improvements included new walks, a pergola, picnic shelter, restroom building, and sculptural displays.
