The Demonstration Farm serves as a place to share knowledge and promote research, innovation, discovery and lifelong learning opportunities regarding the vital role agriculture plays in sustaining our daily lives.
Our design team was tasked with creating this innovative master plan for creating this facility within the existing context of the historic Red Barn and Tashjian Bee and Pollinator Discovery Center at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. We collaboratively worked with the University's Capital Planning and Arboretum Staff to craft a program for site design including multiple phases of improvements.
Recommended master plan elements include a Master Gardener home, a summer kitchen, a maintenance building, and viewing platforms for crop research and demonstration plantings.
