This iconic mixed-use high-rise includes an 80,000 square foot amenity deck on the third floor overlooking Millennium Park, Grant Park, and Lake Michigan in downtown Chicago.
Our team led the design and construction detailing of the amenity deck and the roof garden spaces while collaborating closely with a multi-disciplinary team of architects and structural engineers. The sculptural quality of the building facade's vertical topography is recapitulated and transformed in the design of one of Chicago's largest roof gardens.
The extensive landscaped garden areas cover the majority of the roof and are designed with undulating topography and strongly contrasting plants that appear more as graphic elements than as parts of traditional planting design. The roof garden provides extraordinary amenities for building residents and visitors, including a pool, cabanas, multi-purpose activity area, shelters, open terraces, barbeque stations, a fire pit, and sitting areas.
