This expansion provides space for the police department, municipal court, dispatch and animal control as well as additional parking for staff and the public.
Confluence helped to shape the overall building complex to fit within the existing downtown context and the City's form-based code requirements. A new entry plaza with seating and sculpture connects the complex to a new shared parking area. This area was also designed to provide ample event space for the annual Fallen Officer Memorial Service and other events in the downtown area.
The design incorporates sustainable design practices including rain gardens to capture and treat stormwater runoff entering the site from the adjacent streets. The project was designed to meet LEED certification requirements.
