Excelsior Springs Community Center

Excelsior Springs, Missouri

This eight-acre site was transformed into an inviting community center for residents and students in the Excelsior Springs School District.

Confluence guided the site planning to create a strong sense of arrival, providing a formal entry drive terminating into a main entry drop-off plaza.  The building was integrated into the sloped site to provide multiple levels of connectivity with the surrounding landscape. This includes a plaza space with vistas out to the adjacent Century Park and a naturally sloped amphitheater adjacent to the south patio area.

Our team also oriented the building to provide ideal exposure for a future outdoor aquatics facility to be constructed on the southwest side of the building - and the City is now exploring implementation of this next phase of development.
