30th Anniversary of the Passage of the American’s with Disabilities Act

Wednesday, August 26, 2020

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the passage of the American’s with Disabilities Act. On July 26th, 1990 the ADA was signed into law, creating provisions to prevent discrimination against people with disabilities. As design professionals, we celebrate this civil rights act. The concept of Universal Design – that people of all abilities must be allowed to access and experience the built environment – is at the forefront of our priorities as we design and implement our projects.

Among our projects, Triumph Park in Waukee, Iowa has been an example of the crossroads of high-concept design and universal access to all amenities. Boasting an extensive playground, fishing pier, and miracle field, these amenities are all universally designed, which provides people of all abilities equal opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
