It may feel far into the future, but cities wanting to plan for the 2030s are starting now. For Sioux Falls, South Dakota the planning process is already underway for what the downtown will look like in the coming years. The city has kicked off outlining it’s 2035 Downtown Plan, starting the 10 to 12 month process of setting the goals and action points for future development.
The 2035 Downtown Plan will be assembled to create a vision that stimulates a vibrant downtown and supports a variety of developments and amenities over the next 10 years. It will be a look forward at the next decade and it will be a guiding document for the community to implement the collective vision.
"We need to be as creative, and somewhat entertaining as possible to really get folks excited to participate in our planning process. So we do like to make it as interactive as possible." Confluence Principal Chris Shires
