Mamata is a Landscape Designer in our Minneapolis office. Originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, Mamata attended the Institute of Engineering where she received her Bachelor's in Architecture and later went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for her Master of Landscape Architecture.
Mamata came to know about the profession ‘landscape architecture’ only in her later days of architecture studies. Growing up spending more time outdoors, and focused on designing outdoor environments even while practicing architecture, she developed a passion for landscape architecture. “For me, landscape architecture is an opportunity to not only create beautiful attractive destinations but also to craft an experiential quality to the mundane routes and built environment that actually is in harmony with the environment we live in.” Mamata’s recent passion in landscape architecture is towards children and nature as she believes it is the best way to impart a proactive behavior in kids through exposure to the right kind of activities and play area from an early age.
Before joining Confluence, Mamata worked as a Landscape Designer in Denver where she worked in neighborhood developments and landscape design for school and medical offices. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, especially with her niece and nephew. Apart from that, she loves outdoor sketching, paintings, and exploring new places.
