Confluence’s PJ Novick, along with Sarah Cauthon of Sabatini Architects, presented the master plan for the Shawnee Methodist Indian Mission to a packed house on Friday evening. The Mission, located in Fairway, Kansas, is on the National Register of Historic Places. Over the past two years, a number of design professionals and firms including Joanne Schwarberg and SFS Architecture worked with the Mission’s Foundation, the City of Fairway, KS and numerous volunteers to envision “A New Mission.” The master plan conserves our past and illuminates Shawnee Mission’s relevance today. Making use of the diverse site, the enhanced and new features will attract people to learn, celebrate and build community. The master plan will make the Mission a sustainable, vital resource for years to come. Confluence is thrilled to have played a role in this important community asset.
