Confluence Student Interns - Final Presentation

Our student interns presented their final designs for three urban overpass environments in Des Moines and Kansas City. Sparked by conversations with local neighborhood leaders, it was the intent of this initiative to come up with innovative and strategic designs for otherwise forgotten and neglected urban landscapes. Kate Larkin, Huanyue Wang and Chenxin Sun proposed thoughtful design considerations which included many unique and dynamic elements ranging from pollinator gardens to a BMX course and a sculptural pedestrian overpass seeking to join disconnected parts of the city.
