Confluence Welcomes Maryam Maddahzad to our Des Moines Office

Tuesday, July 19, 2022

New Staff Announcement - Maryam.jpgWe are excited to welcome Maryam Maddahzad to the Confluence team! After studying Urban Planning, Maryam wanted to explore space-making and design problems not just at large scales but in a variety of environments. As a result, she continued her academic journey in 2019 studying Landscape Architecture at Iowa State University, where she received her MLA degree. She believes gaining back the lost public spaces in cities should be the priority of today's design work. Her favorite type of work is designing smart streetscape using new technologies and designing multi-use urban pocket parks.

Outside of work, Maryam enjoys drawing, small garden works, and playing with little Scotch (her cat). Although she misses her family, food, and friends in Iran, she finds great cultural similarities between American and Persian people which has made adapting so much easier. She also appreciates the pleasantness and charm of the Midwest.

Welcome aboard, Maryam.
