We are pleased to announce that Maelo Maldonado is serving as our new leader in the Fargo office – continuing our firm’s commitment to providing award-winning design and planning services throughout North Dakota and beyond.
Maelo (pronounced My-Lo) is an experienced practitioner of design in both urban and rural settings throughout the Midwest, and brings over 25 years of professional experience to our team. Beyond his deep voice lies a warm heart and gentle spirit that cares deeply about professional mentorship, coaching team members to achieve their full potential, and developing long-term relationships with clients.
His familiarity and influences span a variety of experiences between growing up in Puerto Rico and graduating from Purdue University. His professional work includes numerous projects throughout the Chicago area and the Midwest. Maelo has completed a wide range of projects involving urban planning, commercial development, regional and local parks and open spaces, high-end residential landscapes, streetscape design, and civic and community spaces.
In addition to his passion for design, Maelo is an avid martial artist as ISKF-certified instructor in both Shotokan Karate and Matayoshi Kobudo – a traditional Okinawan style. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, mountain biking, building Legos with his teenage son, and spending quality time with his family.
